This Is It Forever records was founded in 2011, as an offshoot to the promotions
company of the same name that me and Tom (the other one in Ghosting Season and
worriedaboutsatan) founded in 2008.
We promoted gigs around Leeds from 2008-2010, but then in 2011, we upped and left for
Manchester. We had no intention of putting on gigs, so we turned TIIF into a mini
label, simply to help release our own music.
We’ve always had a strong sense of doing it yourself, and keeping things in a close
knit family, so making the leap into releasing records wasn’t really that unexpected.
We put out the first Ghosting Season EP back in 2011, and then we followed that with
a remix EP for the band too. Then, for a while nothing happened as we had an album put
out by another label, so we forgot all about this little thing.
In March 2013, however, I decided I wanted to release some solo records, so thought
I’d dust the old thing off and use it to put some music out there once again.

Embedded within the matchbox is a tiny MP3 player featuring the album plus one
completely unique bonus track per unit. The listener is invited to light their
candle and enjoy the album as it was conceived and produced by both Capac and
Harding: at night in an otherwise dark room.
Each physical package also includes a unique Polaroid photograph taken in Athens
or Bristol of a night scene that references - overtly or otherwise - an aspect of
one of the poems. All presented inside a grey sliding box, complete with matches.
Note: the MP3 player requires microusb to power, and standard minijack headphones
to listen. There is no skipping of tracks available. You will listen to the album
in its entirety, from start to finish.
The final track is your own unique track, there are twenty-two of these unique
bonus tracks and they will be randomly assigned to each order, as will the
Polaroids.
AFTER LIGHTS OUT WITH TOM HARDING, the third album from long-distance ‘new music’
collective Capac, comprises ten pieces incorporating and inspired by poems taken
from Palewell Press author Tom Harding’s Night Work collection, and features the
Northampton poet’s own recitations in and around Capac’s musical explorations of
the nocturnal themes in his poems.
This latest full length sees the collective explore new music, minimalism, ambient
/experimental electro-acoustic and, of course, Harding’s spoken word world, as Capac
offer his poems a new context to that of the original 2017 Palewell Press publication.
The poet’s voice is heard alongside the nuances of his recordings — his page-turns
and breaths, the creak of his chair — in combination with contemporary extended piano
techniques, modular synthesis, altered field recordings, tape manipulations, and the
vocals of Capac’s Kate Smith, all recorded and produced in and between Athens, Greece,
and Bristol, Liverpool and London, UK.
